ABOUT US

CLAS includes all levels of lettering artists, bookbinders, printers and sign-writers, as well as those who simply have an abiding interest in the historical and/or contemporary applications of these forms of expression. We are teachers, artists, skilled amateurs, professionals and dabblers.

CLAS is a not-for-profit corporation founded in 1979. Although our membership is mainly within North and South Carolina, we welcome members from other states. We strive to provide a means of communication and exchange of ideas between our members.

We offer two workshops yearly and a Winter Retreat. Our Annual General Meeting (AGM), held each spring, is a weekend event which includes an educational workshop, a business meeting, fellowship, and good food.
